Ever wish you could choose a physician that provides the best treatment?
Perhaps one that specializes in individual care and has the opinions
of hundreds of physicians at their fingertips.
Then Dr. Eric Moskow of Coral Springs is your doctor.
Being a physician for more than 20 years, Dr. Eric Moskow knows the
ins and outs of the health care system.
Also growing up with a business minded family, Dr. Moskow combined
his expertise to open OBDS (Outcome Based Delivery Systems), a health
care company that owns and manages medical practices.
“When I look at South Florida, I see a very fragmented health
care system. The doctors are searching for direction and the payers
do not have an organized delivery system,” said Dr. Moskow.
Hoping to bring a more unified system, he opened OBDS in Coral Springs
about two years ago. Living and working in the community have been
key to his success. He also has offices in Margate, Coconut Creek,
Tamarac and Lauderhill.
“One of the greatest components to being successful is knowing
the community where you’re making your business,” he said.
Dr. Moskow also has an extensive medical background. Graduating from
Vassar College in New York, he took his love for science and medicine
to practice and opened a company called Physician Choice in Connecticut.
Then, he moved to Coral Springs and continued his medical practice
while at the same time he opened the local company.
After only a few years, OBDS is already over $25 million in revenue
and that number is expected to double next year. As well, the company
plans to add more physicians and acquire a hospital. Currently, OBDS
has a staff of experienced physicians including:
Dr. Rafael Rodriguez, Joseph Hadeed, Israel Penate, Mike Perl, and
Arthur Shachner as well as 100+ affiliated physicians in a wrap-around
IPA.
Besides offering a selection of qualified physicians, OBDS also provides
individualized care, lower pharmaceutical costs, and many other features
that set the company apart.
“We are one of the few groups that own their own pharmacy division
and has pharmacists that are experts. Also we are working with Velocity
to have our own gym for our patients with personal training, and we
offer house calls and all the alternatives so patients do not have
to go to the hospital and pay huge co-pays,” he said.
Senior services are also a top priority. Those include focus groups
and providing transportation services.
“We’re the largest integrated medical group in South
Florida,” Dr. Moskow added. “And the most important thing
is that we look where we’re going, not at the competition. We
want to be the best we can be.”
Much of Dr. Moskow’s success comes from a competitive nature
and a hard working family. He’s an athlete at heart and has
passed down his drive to his children. He is also the United States
Chess Federation Master. “I look at this world as an athletic
field. I’m playing chess at the same time that I’m building
a business. My focus is on putting the right people in the right places
in the business.”
However, ultimately communication keeps OBDS booming and growing.
“Our doctors here communicate with each other and want to
be aligned with the patients not the hospital,” he said. “There
is nothing else like OBDS in the area.”
