Taste of Coral Springs

The Taste of Coral Springs will take place at the Coral Springs Center for the Arts from 6:30 p.m.-9 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 5; this year’s event will feature a Mardi Gras theme. Food and beverages from local restaurants and companies, live music, and silent auction items and raffles benefiting local children’s charities will be featured. Tickets are $65 prior to Tuesday, Feb. 5 and $75 on the day of the event. Community Garage Sale in Coral Springs

The Trash to Treasure Garage Sale will take place at Mullins Park from 8-11 a.m. Saturday, March 8. The event offers opportunities to buy or sell household items and other objects; vendor spaces are $25 on or before Friday, Feb. 15 and $35 thereafter, plus a separate $30 deposit check that will be returned after the event if the space is clean. Café Chabad in Coral Springs

Chabad of Coral Springs will hold a Café Chabad event for adults at 8 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 9; the event will feature a special movie premiere, a dairy buffet, coffee and pastries. The cost is $20 per person and $36 per couple; participants are asked to RSVP by Saturday, Feb. 5. Chabad of Coral Springs is located at 3925 N. Taster’s Luncheon in Coral Springs

The Coral Springs Woman’s Club’s annual Taster’s Luncheon will take place in Cypress Hall at Cypress Hammock Park from 11:30 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 23; appetizers, entrees, sides and desserts will be available to taste. Because the theme will be “Pirates of the Caribbean,” pirate dress is encouraged but not necessary; the cost per ticket is $20, which will benefit various charitable endeavors supported by the club. Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration in Coral Springs

The 18th Annual Coral Springs Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration will take place throughout the day Friday, Jan. 18. Annual Martin Luther King, Jr. - Celebration begins Friday, Jan. 18. Charles Steele, Jr., former Alabama senator and current national president/CEO of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference, will serve as keynote speaker. Household Hazardous Waste Collection in Coral Springs

Coral Springs and Broward County will partner to host a Household Hazardous Waste Collection Day at Coral Springs City Hall South from 8 a.m.-3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 10. City and county residents are encouraged to bring their old paint, used motor oil, batteries, household cleaning supplies and other hazardous wastes to the collection site for proper disposal. Coral Springs City Hall South is located at 9530 W. Sample Rd. Business Success Day in Coral Springs

A Business Success Day for high school students ages 14 and older will take place at the Northwest Regional Library from 1-3 p.m. Monday, Feb. 18; the event will assist teens, who must RSVP by Friday, Feb. 1, in polishing their presentation when applying to prospective employers for a job. A focus will be placed on resume writing, interviewing skills, how to dress for an interview and other important skills; students who graduate from the event will be eligible to apply for jobs at a local Youth Job Fair taking place in March.
