Children bounced up and down in the bounce house, while others got henna tattoos.
All the while, moms and dads scoured tents full of giveaways and free food.
This was the scene at the third-annual Taste of Parkland event, which was held at the Waterways Shoppes on 441 and sponsored and organized by the Parkland Chamber of Commerce.
“The purpose of the event is to assist local business, especially restaurants, in building a customer base by showcasing their products in a central family friendly location, as well as to support local charities,” said Dana Josephson, Executive Assistant to the Parkland Chamber of Commerce and Marketing Director to McFarlane & Dolan.
This year, proceeds from the Taste of Parkland are going to four public schools in Parkland.
There were over 40 restaurants, local vendors, a featured DJ, live music, and numerous activities for children at the event. The Title sponsor for the event this year was Simon & Douglas Development, owner of the Waterways Shoppes. The other sponsors include: Don L Leasing, McFarlane & Dolan, Apple Printing, Our Town News, and Northwest Medical Center, among others.
