Pancake Breakfast To Raise Funds For College Scholarships

Published April 24th, 2008

Treat Mom to a Pre-Mother’s Day breakfast and support a local college scholarship program May 12 from 8 a.m.-10:30 a.m. at Wings Plus, 9890 West Sample Road, Coral Springs. The Coral Springs Downtown Lions Club hosts a pancake breakfast to help the club raise funds to distribute to local high school seniors graduating in 2008. All proceeds raised will fund the club’s scholarship program and are tax deductible, according to Theresa Sadowski and Charles Colesanti, this year’s co-chairpersons.

The Coral Springs Downtown Lions Club will award five $500 dollar scholarships to graduating seniors to be applied toward college expenses. Students enrolled in the following five schools will each receive a scholarship: Coral Springs High School, the Coral Springs Charter School, J.P. Taravella High School, Coral Glades High School, and Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School.

The menu for the event includes fresh strawberries, sausage, bacon, orange juice, coffee and tea. A donation of $5 for adults and $3 for children age 10 and under is suggested. Tickets can be purchased at Wings Plus or from a Coral Springs Downtown Lion member. For additional information about the pancake breakfast or to make a donation to the scholarship program, contact Theresa Sadowski at 954-340-6369.
