Studio 54 Night Benefits JAFCO

Published February 14th, 2008

More than 225 disco clad attendees were recently dancing, singing, and contributing to benefit JAFCO (Jewish Adoption and Foster Care Options) at the Studio 54 Night.
The adults-only event held at the new Heron Bay Plaza del Lago was the first of its kind for the new Parkland/Coral Springs Chapter of JAFCO.
The sold-out event helped raise over $100,000 through ticket sales, silent auction and direct donations. The money raised goes to benefit abused and neglected children in the South Florida community. The night was chaired by Anne and Marcie Butters and with help from the dedicated committee. Chapter President Karen Ritter was “thrilled with the turnout and the great interest generated by the event.”
One highlight was the introduction of the Godparent Circle, an elite group of donors who spiritually adopt JAFCO children. JAFCO Godparents make a ten-year minimum pledge of $1,800 per year to support the needs of the children. To commemorate the connection, each Godparent is given a beautiful 14k gold pin which signifies love and dedication to the children of JAFCO.

JAFCO Children’s Village is a safe haven for children and provides them with care and support. To get involved with JAFCO, contact Rana Roseberg at 954-749-7230.
