Some Parkland students got a crash course in preparing for the real world.
About 100 seniors from Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland recently participated in the Ethical Decision Making in the Workplace and Society seminar.
During the seminar led by Michael Kridel, seniors were faced with various workplace situations and had to make ethical decisions.
“They were faced with various ethical dilemmas, had to discuss the situation, draw from their own experiences and work through their decisions,” said Marjory Stoneman Douglas principal Ann Andersen-Kowalski. “This is preparing them to deal with society and the real world after high school.”
Seniors Alex Needelman and David Yakobovitch said they gained much insight about making important decisions.
“I’ve learned that in the business world success comes down to hard work and integrity. You don’t have to backstab to stand out,” said Needelman.
Yakobovitch added, “I learned about things they normally don’t talk about in school. I learned that you shouldn’t be too quick to judge.”
